Once you replace negative thoughts by positive ones, you’ll start having positive results

If you are in high school, college or university, you know what I’m going through… The exam stress is real!

For some people, stress can be very helpful, especially when working in a creative area, it gives you an extra boost to accomplish what you desire but at a certain point it can be devastating for the mind and the body. I feel like stressing out get easier with time, meaning you are going to find ways and methods to cope with it better. And then day by day, you will find yourself stressing out less.

As a student, the most stressing part of our lives as to be midterms and finals. They are inevitable and so we have to find a way to live with it as peacefully as possible. I found some good tricks that help me deal with it.

So here’s a list of 5 things that I like to do during those stressful times.

Be ready

… In advance. Do not procrastinate. If you know that you have 4 finals coming up make sure you study equally for all of them. You want the best grade possible and you need to do everything in your power to succeed. I found that I have better grades when I would start my review two to three weeks in advance. That way you still have time to see your teacher if you have questions. Or show them your assignment to get useful feedback to improve it.

Find a place to study

You need to find a place where you are able to concentrate and accomplish a lot of thing. Libraries are not for everyone. You can study in a coffee shop, at your place, in a classroom, in the community center or a tutoring center. The important thing is that you are able to concentrate on your study and maximize your time.

Don’t over do it

If you have been studying for 7 hours straight on the same subject, take a break. Go do something else and come back to it the next day. Also, try not to study the same day or the day before your exam. The overload of information that you get last minute will mix you up causing you to blank in front of your exam.

In order for you mind to be healthy, you body most be healthy too. You don’t have to go big on this. If you are not into exercising, go take a small walk every day. Let your brain breath fresh air once and a while. Same goes for food. Try to be as healthy as you can. You don’t want to get sick during exam time because that is an even more stressful situation.

Get help

If you see that you are struggling with your review or assignment, get some help. Teachers are here to help us succeed. I used to be very sky and I didn’t want to ask the teachers for help. If you are like that too, go ask a classmate. And if this is too much, get yourself a tutor. Get the help that you think you need.

Of course this is all the thing that works for me personally, you may have some other tricks that work better for and that is great because at the end of the day we all just want to be less stressed.

Big kisses and we’ll talk soon
